Trachyphyllia corals, also known as open brain corals, are large, stony corals with fleshy polyps that are free-living and can move around. They are popular with hobbyists for their unique shape, bright colors, and relative ease of care.

Trachyphyllia can reach up to 20 cm (7.8 inches) and exhibit vibrant and striking colors from monochromatic metallic and lime green to striped rainbows with yellow, red, orange, pink, and green.

They require moderate lighting and water flow, and can thrive in a well-maintained aquarium environment.
