The Powder Brown Tang, also called the Powder Brown Surgeonfish, Japan Surgeonfish as well as White-faced Surgeonfish, has a brown body that has a white mark across the face between the eyes and mouth. The pectoral and anal as well as dorsal fins have dark brown and have lighter blue highlights near the point. The dorsal fin has an orange stripe. Tail fins are blue and have an orange vertical bar.
