Capnella is a genus of soft corals in the family Nephtheidae. They are also commonly known as Kenya tree corals.
Kenya Trees or Capnella does not require as much light as some other corals. It can be kept under normal output fluorescents without much difficulty. Lighting is a loaded topic, so for a more in-depth discussion of lighting, please see our Deep Dive article. Moderate water movement is recommended.
Along with proper lighting and water quality, the Green Kenya Tree Coral will thrive when provided medium to strong, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This can be easily achieved with the addition of powerheads, wavemakers, or water circulation pumps.
This is a pretty “hungry” species as far as corals go, so you'll have to supplement its diet on a regular basis unless you keep it in something like a refugium. Luckily, feeding a coral isn't difficult.
They are non aggressive when placed next to soft coral but can affect hard corals if they come into contact with them.
Disclaimer:
Corals on the pictures are not WYSIWYG, photos was made under different lighting (blue or white lights) and in different tank (our show of frag tanks). You will get coral size as described, shape and color could be slightly off due to shipping stress.
