Copperband Butterfly Fish

Copperband Butterflyfish, also known as the Beaked Butterflyfish, Beaked Coralfish, or Orange Stripe Butterfly, has a narrow, long mouth and nose that is used to hunt in crevices and holes to find food. The Copperband Butterflyfish is yellow-orange with vertical bands that have an edging of black. The fish has an artificial eye spot in the rear of its dorsal fin. It is best kept in large reefs or in tranquil community tanks. It is best to keep it on its own without butterflies that are similar to it and should not be kept in a tank with stress-producing fish. It is important to be cautious when placing the fish in an aquarium with reef fish. They could attack invertebrates, particularly anemones and feather dusters. They make excellent fish for controlling the glass anemones, or aiptasia in the reef aquarium.   Copperband Butterflyfish are difficult fish to feed. It is a reserved and hesitant eater that might require different foods.
